As 2014 draws to a close, it’s a perfect time to reflect just a bit on the past year.   It’s been a year of growth for the Midland Institute and CEO.  We now have something like 28 CEO classes either currently operating or in the pipeline for a fall 2015 launch.  Those classes will serve hundreds of students from nearly 125 high schools in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Missouri.

Sarah Petty is a nationally known photographer, a best selling author, and CEO of a company called “The Joy of Marketing”.   That’s all easily documented through her incredible work.  She’s also a human dynamo.  To know that you have to meet her.

In the last twelve months, I’ve been in more than twenty-five states.  From the big cities of our country to tiny little burgs that hardly have a name, I’ve had the opportunity to observe and interact with all kinds of people from all walks of life.

When you spend a lot of time on the road, you see stuff.  Some stuff looks like the stuff you see everywhere, so similar you can’t tell where you are. 

I’m being dragged into the connected world of social media in ways I have resisted until recently.  Until a couple of weeks ago, I didn’t tweet, I posted once or twice a year on Facebook, and I didn’t “gram”, insta or otherwise.
